50% discount on gym memberships

In a previous post I discussed how valuable the AIA Vitaly programme is to me. The benefit I'm talking about today is how you can save up to 50% off various gym memberships.

Remember if you're not a Vitality member already, read this article first and then get a quote to start saving.

Virgin Active
You will get 50% off a Virgin Active flexible membership.

No catches or complex calculations, just a straight forward discount. And every time you visit the gym, you get 100 points towards your Vitality status and weekly active benefit.

So, how much can you save?

I belong to Virgin Active Collection gym in Barangaroo. Flexible membership is normally $60 per week, so currently I'm only paying $30 per week with Vitality. This will save me a total of $1560 over the course of this year.

But truth be told, I would more than likely have signed up for the 12 month membership if I didn't have Vitality and this costs $45 per week. So my true saving is reduced, but still a decent $780 a year.

Plus, on top of all this, you get Virgin Australia points if you go to the gym 12 times in a month.

To sign up to Virgin Active (with or without Vitality), use this link and you'll receive a free workout voucher. If you then join, you'll receive 1 week for free too.

Fitness First
If you prefer Fitness First gyms, you can get 30% off membership but you may have to pay the signup fee.

You’ll earn cash back every quarter that you visit the gym on 24 separate days. This cashback amount is 20%, meaning if you achieve the 24 days per quarter target, you are getting a total of 50% off your membership.

You also get 100 Vitality points per visit.

Anytime Fitness
Here you'll get 50% off the joining fee and 10% off monthly membership (12-month contract).

Similar to Fitness First, you'll get cashback every quarter that you visit the gym on 24 separate days. But rather than a percentage discount, it is $100 per quarter.

You also get 100 Vitality points per visit.

To qualify for these discounts, you need to be an AIA Vitality member. If you aren't already, read how to join in this article or contact Life Insurance Direct.

Remember, even if you take out the cheapest policy in addition to your current insurance, you'll still save money overall.
